Packaging With Purpose
How We Present Our Honey Matters
Our bees work hard doing their bit to look after the earth - pollinating all the plants, supporting ecosystems and helping crops thrive. So when it comes to packaging their honey, we believe it is our duty to do our part for the planet too.
Packaging our honey is where we have the greatest environmental impact, so every decision we make - down to the smallest details - matters.
Here’s how we’ve approached our packaging with care and intention:
Our jars
We use glass jars to package our honey. While glass requires more energy to produce than plastic, it has a much longer life cycle. It’s endlessly reusable and recyclable without losing its quality.
We also run a jar return program. Bring your empty jar back to us and we’ll sterilise and reuse it in future seasons. As a thank you, you’ll receive $1 off your next jar.
TIP: Reuse your jar at home for spices, pantry storage, candles or a DIY gift!
Our labels
Our labels are made with 30% Post Consumer Waste and using a material that is FSC Certified, ensuring the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests.
They are designed to be easy to remove from our jars, which makes returning or reusing jars simpler for you.
We get our labels printed locally, supporting other local businesses is very important to us too!
Our tamper seal
Instead of a plastic seal, our tamper seal is made from rice paper. It’s both home and commercially compostable, or can be placed in your paper recycling.
Our decorative string
The string that ties it all together: it’s biodegradable and can be easily reused, whether in crafts, gardening or gift wrapping.
