Our Packaging

Our bees work hard doing their bit to look after the earth (pollinating all the plants) so we feel that it is our duty to present their honey in a way that looks after the earth too. Packaging our honey is where we have the greatest impact so the decisions we have made around this were very important to us.

Our jars

  • Our honey is packed in glass jars. Glass does have a higher footprint to manufacture than plastic but it is also good to use over and over again. We take back our glass jars, sterilising and reusing the following season while offering you a $1 discount off your next purchase.

Our labelling

  • Our new labels are sourced from Hally Labels. They are made from 30% post consumer waste, FSC (forest stewardship council) certified while still being easy to remove from our glass jars.*

  • Our tamper seal is made from rice paper. It’s recyclable or compostable (both home and commercially).

  • Our decorative string is biodegradable but also easy to reuse.

* Please note that in some cases (i.e. at our stockists) you may still find our old labels on product. These are a smoother glossy material and while very easy to remove from our glass jars these are not sourced from Hally Labels eco-friendly range.
