The 2024 Outstanding Food Producer Awards
This year, for the first time ever, we have been awarded GOLD at the Outstanding Food Producer Awards… not for just one of our products but for ALL our products entered! It’s suggested that gold medals are reserved for products that have actually reached perfection, so to say we are over the moon would be an understatement!
Entering prestigious New Zealand food awards is always a little nerve wracking, but we appreciate the feedback that the judges give for the Outstanding Food Producers, here’s what they had to say this year about our honey’s.
Branch Creek Honey, Creamed Clover Blend Honey - GOLD MEDAL “Fabulous aroma. Viscosity is great and looks luscious. Judges loved the flavour and taste.”
Branch Creek Honey, Raw Clover Blend Honey - GOLD MEDAL “Smooth, shiny and judges loved the natural crystallisation. Viscosity and colour are gorgeous. Excellent honey.”
Branch Creek Honey, Comb Honey - GOLD MEDAL “Excellent aroma. Super sweet honey with a mild flavour. Beautifully presented.”
“The medal tally was 137 Gold; 76 silver and 48 bronze from a remarkable 355 entries from 122 Kiwi food and drink producers which were judged at Auckland’s Homeland restaurant last month.
NZ food industry legend and Awards Head Judge, Lauraine Jacobs who led 23 judges assessing the products said; “Medals are a morale boost for producers affirming their hardwork, while they give consumers a guide to locally made products that they can purchase with confidence.”
Lauraine observed that New Zealand is known for great honey but the range of distinct flavours, coupled with excellent texture in so many of the honey entries this year was notable and worthy of 10 Gold Medals.”

Our Raw Clover Blend Honey has gone on to earn us the category CHAMPION award for the Farro Earth category. This award is given to the product that scores the highest points out of the whole category (judged by 23 judges). We are absolutely thrilled to see our honey take this award and it’s such a privilege to be amongst the champion winners at the Outstanding Food Producer Awards 2024.
